Economic implications of chronic illness and disability
Disability is an important issue for the transition countries of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Because the economic drivers and cost of poor health status and disabilities in this region are not well documented, this book aims to close this gap by leveraging household survey data from a large number of transition countries, analyzing the poverty-disability relationship and the linkages between disability and employment, earnings, children’s school enrollments, and adults’ time use patterns.
