How has Indonesia's transition proceeded and what is the quality of Indonesia's nasscent democracy? In order to discuss these question in detail, this book's focus is on regime change in Indonesia. This chapter, therefore, begins with a discussion of various regime types ranging from authoritarianism to democracy.
