The purpose for this book is to present past and current agricultural public policies; economic principles used to analyze policy; the processes by which they are developed and the government structure which supports the implementation of agriculture legislation passed by congress. The textbook includes agruments for and against common tools of US agriculture policy. This debate continues today and can be seen in a gradual change over time from taxes and tariffs to risk management.
