Reducing inequality for shared growth in China: strategy and policy options for Guangdong Province
Guangdong has been China’s leading growth powerhouse and is an example of China’s successes in economic reform. To assist in developing a strategy for the new phase of reforms that promotes shared and sustainable growth, this book recommends a three-pillared approach: eliminate absolute poverty by further developing the sosial assistance system, enhance income opportunities of rural poor people by increasing labor market mobility, deepening rulal finance reform, and improving the protection of land rights, and invest in people by ensuring more equitable access ti quality social services.
