Building e-government through reform
Electronic government is one of the most frequently mentioned themes in the public sector reform. Since public perceptions of bureaucracy became more negative in advanced countries in 1980s, a strong demand for government reform has been shared among the public at large in Korea as well as some advanced countries. A response to this is e-government. Especially, during the last ten years information technologu has been flourishing, those countries have been pursuing competitive the public sector reform through e-government under the New Public Management imperatives which oriented to small but efficient, doing more with less, government structure and operation. This book examines efforts of the public sector reform ans establishing electronic government in Kore since 1990s.
