This book discusses the history of the party system in Jeffersonian democracy and Federalist parties. It consists of six chapters about the party and opposition in the eighteenth century, a consitution against parties, the Jeffersonians in opposition, the transit of power, the quest for unanimity, and the early development of a party system. This book is suitable for research on the development of party system during the early history of American government, in particular during Jefferson era.
