The book consists of ten speeches by Wentworth in behalf of the Liberties of Parliament in 1576, Cromwell on the Dissolution of the First Protectorate Parliament in 1655, Chatham on the government policy in America in 1775, Burke on moving resolutions for conciliation with the American colonies in 1775, Grattan's Declaration of Irish Rights in 1780, Pitt on the slave trade in 1792, Ersekine in behalf of Thomas Faine, James Fox on the Frence overtures for pearce in 1800, O'Connell's at a meeting to recover Catholic rights in 1814, and Macaulay on parliamentary reform in 1831. This book is suitable for research on British various aspects of politics, in particular in regards to well-known politicans.
