The constitutional court and human rights protection in Indonesia
The formation of Indonesia's Constitutional Court in 2003 delivered new hope for the protection of human rights in Indonesia. Armed with the authority of judicial review, the Court has annulled provisions of law that impeded and violated human rights. The Court has also frequently issued constitutional interpretations to overcome legal deadlocks or vacuums. This book will beessential reading for constitutional law and human rights activists, especially for foreign academics and researchers who pay attention to legal and political developments in Indonesia.
